Host yourself ! This is my advice. Webhosts suck 87%.

What are your hosting needs. Will you have a lot of visitors or high bandwidth use? Likely if its a new site you can get a package for a few dollars a month and upgrade as your site grows. How much are looking to spend?

Have a look around ebay there are tons of hosting deals for dirt CHEAP. I'm not sure if they are any good though.

he cant even google hosting let alone set up his own hosting.

Dont buy hosting from ebay. They are all hosting resellers and the service is crap and the downtime is worse. If you are at all serious about your site then dont buy hosting from ebay.
