Directory Script

I want to launch one more site, for now, who knows what the best free directory script is. I have never worked with a directory is it a lot of work or pretty easy?

I am looking for a free script but the best one.

I think that phplb is the standard. They have a paid version and a free version (old version). I would tell you to buy the better version though because you will get too much spam with the older version.
